Freddy Flintstone
a/k/a "Michael Sterling" (his real name)
'Freddy' is a good friend I've known for more than 20 years. I first met him when he was a teenager and hustling for tourist dollars in water sports at the Sheraton Hotel in Ocho Rios (now the Jamaica Grande). Freddy is no longer 'working' the beach, and has grown to be an honest person and very trusted friend.
When I first met Freddy, he would go diving for lobsters and conch for my wife, daughter and I. Then he would cook them up in a fantastic garlic sauce, and bring it to where we would be lounging on the beach. The rest of the tourists would all wonder where we got such fabulous food, and Freddy started doing it for other tourists as well. Whenever I knew someone going to the hotel, I would suggest they look up Freddy for a tasty lunch.
Freddy is also an excellent swimmer and diver, and on many occasions we went out with him to do some great snorkeling. He always knew the best spots, and arranged for a boat and captain at reasonable prices.
All along, Freddy was also helping other tourists get the most out of Ocho Rios and Jamaica. As a resident of the area, Freddy knows the best places to eat, sight-see, and generally relax and have fun.
Freddy will be able to fill you in on all of the local culture and arrange for trips to see Dunns River Falls, Shaw Park Gardens, Fern Gully, and other beautiful places. He also arranges for water sports for our guests including jet skis, snorkeling, para-sailing, and many other items our guests want to see or do. And, if a guest needs to exchange some of their currency for J$'s, he makes sure they get the best exchange rate available at the moment. If you want to sample some good local Jamaican food, Freddy will tell you where to find it, and accompany you if you desire.
We recommend Freddy to all of our guests to help them relax and have a good time.
If you want Freddy to be available to you during your stay at our properties, just let me know, and it can be easily arranged.
